Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
FH Classic Auto Parts (“we”, “us”) sells reproduction parts for classic Holden Commodores from Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Orders and accounts: your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, order history and, if you create an account, your login details.
- Enquiries: whatever you send us through our contact and part-request forms (name, email, message, and any vehicle or part details you include).
- Payments: we do not see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal (see below). We receive confirmation of payment, the payment method type and the last four digits of a card.
- Website usage: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at the site, collected through Google Analytics and cookies.
How we use it
- To process, pack, ship and support your order, including returns under our fitment guarantee.
- To reply to your enquiries and part requests.
- To send order and shipping emails (confirmations, tracking, receipts).
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.
We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the shop:
- Stripe and PayPal, to take payment and detect fraud. They handle your payment details under their own privacy policies (stripe.com/privacy, paypal.com/privacy).
- Delivery carriers such as Australia Post, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
- Google, through Google Analytics, which receives usage data about your visit (see below).
- Our website host and email providers, who store the site’s data and deliver our emails.
- Our accountants and professional advisers, and government or law-enforcement bodies where the law requires it.
Overseas disclosure
Stripe, PayPal and Google operate globally, so information about you may be processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States. We take reasonable steps to use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to Australian law.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are needed for the site to work, such as keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in and completing checkout. We also use Google Analytics to measure traffic and how people use the site. It sets cookies and collects information such as pages visited, device type and approximate location. We use this in aggregate and not to identify you personally. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. Blocking essential cookies may stop the cart and checkout from working.
Forms
Information you submit through our forms is emailed to us and stored in our website so we can respond and keep a record of the enquiry. We only use it to deal with your request.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (generally seven years). Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and handle any follow-up. When information is no longer needed we delete it or de-identify it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers, and access to customer information is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we must keep by law). If you have an account, you can update your details from My account. Otherwise email hello@fhclassicparts.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email us and we will investigate and reply. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
